Kempton Park

Kempton Park is a city found in the East Rand of Gauteng. It was established in 1903 as an independent Municipality but since 2000 it has become part of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.

Kempton Park is located alongside Tembisa, north-east of Johannesburg and south of Pretoria. Kempton Park includes within its boundaries the industrial suburbs of Isando and Spartan, making it one of the largest industrial centres in Africa.

Known as Kemptonpark in Afrikaans, the city is often thought of as an “airport city” due to its proximity to OR Tambo International Airport. The area is popular amongst travellers for its convenience and plentiful accommodation.

The town of Kempton Park owes its residential growth to its immediacy to the Airport. Today Kempton Park is the location for many planned developments as there is a vast amount of space to work with, adding to the overall residential growth of the city.

Kempton Park is the typical family-oriented Johannesburg suburb, perfect for raising families. The homes in the area are of a traditional and spacious nature, suiting most starter families.

The suburb has plenty of schools to offer young families and is also central to many of the major shopping malls.

Amongst the many popular areas in which to buy in Kempton Park, some of them are Birch Acres, Birchleigh, Bonaero Park, Glen Marais, Norkem Park, Edleen, Aston Manor, Spartan, Croydon and Bredell.

For entertainment, residents can visit the Swartspruit Recreational Area, which offers a picturesque dam with picnic and braai facilities.
