Prime site zoned Special Zone 11: Umhlanga Ridge Newtown Centre, comprises of two vacant portions of Erf 2426, Umhlanga Rocks. Portion 80 measuring 1,476 m2 has a bulk allocation of 3,351m2 and a maximum of 35 permissible units. It is easily accessible via a network of major roads, including the M4, M41 north-bound and the N2 from the north and south. The residential aspect of Umhlanga too has grown exponentially. Gated communities and
luxury estates have sprawled their way across the suburb and in particular Umhlanga Ridge, which used to be largely sugarcane fields.
