Nestled in the valley of Balgowan, there is this picturesque farm of 42 hectares with the Indezi river running through it.
14 hectares of land is arable and registered to be irrigated from the river. The dry land is about 14 hectares, about 500 hay bales are cut and baled each year – kikuyu, oats, teff, eragrostis and veld grass. The land is flattish so suitable for livestock.
The house is totally off grid, there is solar for the house (8 panels) with a 5kw inverter, gas geysers and gas for cooking and there is a 25kva back up generator. The Eskom connection is there but is not used but can be easily reinstated. The borehole provides potable water at 4800 litres per hour.
The property is fenced and an electric fence surrounds the house. There is a workshop which is fully
alarmed.
The house consists of a kitchen with a gas / electric oven, lounge with a combustion fireplace, an outside patio area with a braai and dining area and place for relaxation.
Upstairs, there is a large loft area which is used for guests and can easily accommodate a double bed and a couple of singles, could be converted into two rooms, used for storage or any number of other activities. It is light and airy and a very welcoming space.
There is also an outside office. The house is made of brick and the floors are all concreted so low maintenance all round.
