This 217 ha farm is situated on the Buffelsdrift road, at the back end of Meadow Foods on the R263.
It is only about 3 hours drive from Cape Town, and 30 minutes from Ladismith
This is a lifestyle farm where you can enjoy nature, and watch the Blesbok and Springbok already on the farm, whilst feasting your eyes on the typical Karoo veld.
The Buffelsdrift road split the farm into two sections, one being about 30 ha and the other about 180 hectares. The larger portion is mostly fenced with new 12 strand 1.5 metre fencing, with 600 cm jackal proof at the bottom. About 1.2 km still needs to be done with jackal proof, but 12 strand fence is complete. The 30-ha portion is fenced only 25%.
Water is from a borehole, (about 100 meter deep) delivering about 500 liters per hour, and is equipped with a solar pump with 4 x 420W panels and controller, and water stored into a 2500 liters tank. There is a second borehole about 50 meters deep, not equipped with sypher water.
From the borehole, the water is pumped to the residence where it is kept in 7500 liter water tanks, linked to a water filtration system delivering about 150 liter per hour.
Also, there are water tanks fitted to the house and kraal for harvesting rainwater.
Power is via a 5 kva solar system with lithium battery. Lights are on a 12 V system with separate deep cycle battery.
House consist of 2 bedrooms, bathroom, and open living area with kitchen. A porch overlooks the valley, and water point where game come to drink.
An air conditioner is fitted for the hot summer, and a wood burning stove for the winter
Outer buildings include a storeroom, car port, and shed to house tractor and other vehicles.
There is a neatly fenced chicken coop / kraal with water point
The roads on the farm are in good condition, and cover most of the farm.
