This charming coastal village, known as Pringlebaai in Afrikaans, is located in the Overberg region of the Western Cape, South Africa. It lies at the base of Hangklip, across False Bay from Cape Point, and is part of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The village is named in honour of Rear-Admiral Thomas Pringle, who oversaw the naval station at the Cape in the late 1790s.

Pringle Bay is famed for Hangklip, a striking rock formation that juts into the sea, marking the eastern boundary of False Bay. At 484 meters above sea level, Hangklip Mountain is home to numerous natural caves, historically known as a hideout for bandits and slaves escaping their Dutch captors, with the cave known as "Drostersgat" or Deserters Cave.
